Fines For No Reason

Dec. 2, 2015
By MAX TRINK

In Roger Godell’s latest punishment, two Pittsburgh Steelers, running back DeAngelo Williams and corner back William Gay, were fined for wearing CHARITY SUPPORT items while playing and practicing.

DeAngelo Williams was wearing “Find the Cure” eye black and got fined $5,787.  William Gay, also was fined $5,787, was wearing purple cleats in support for domestic violence awareness.

Gay was 7 when his mother was shot and killed by his stepfather and he has been working for years on helping out with this issue.
Williams lost his mother to breast cancer and requested to be allowed to wear pink on his uniform but was denied by the NFL.
Showing support for a charity should be allowed in the NFL to give support to those who deal with breast cancer or domestic violence.

While these innocent players are trying to help get a message across, the unpunished remain free of charges.

Roger Godell should focus on penalizing the players that deserve the fines, like Tom Brady, who went unscathed for deflate gate just because he is an excellent, star quarterback.
